Playground
Sir Joseph Banks has large spacious grounds with extensive asphalt and grassed areas. Students can use the oval, basketball courts and cricket nets at recess and lunchtime. The new COLA (covered outdoor learning area) is available for lunchtime concerts. A Year 7 garden area is currently being developed as a special project with Ernst & Young.
Assembly hall
Our large assembly hall has a 2.5 metre screen and data projector for special presentations.
Technology
Technology has been a school focus since 2004. Considerable time and money has been spent on the training and development of staff, new computers, data projectors, software and network upgrades. Facilities include:

Our library is a modern, air conditioned, multi use learning space. It is well resourced with computers and an extensive collection of fiction and nonfiction books.
Learning Centre
A Learning Centre
for Year 12 students has been established in the library. Students
have ready access to extensive resources specific to the HSC and
their learning needs.
