Debating
Sir Joseph Banks has three sections for debating - Stage 4, Stage 5 and Stage 6. There are four members on each team - three speak and the fourth person writes lots of points to help the speakers. Topics include contemporary issues, the media, civics and citizenship.
Debaters meet once a week in Terms 1 and 2 at lunch time to prepare for the Premier's Debating Challenge that is held for all NSW public schools. Students learn about debating techniques and compete against their school mates before competing against other schools in our region.
